We always come for the LUNCH SPECIAL ($14.95) since we mostly end up ordering the thin pork belly.
- The service here is great.
- It's very easy to ask refills on the banchan (vegetables).
- We are constantly ordering plates of the thin pork belly and get no flak during the course our meal.
- They have tried to give us the wrong order of meat that we didn't order and have taken it back without charging us.
- This location has much room/tables compared to the Aiea location (haven't been to the town location yet).
- They have separate restrooms for men and women.
- The banchan (vegetables) is always changing so unless you call ahead it's hard to know what they will be serving that day.
I'm pretty sure if each time I have visited here..... I'd probably be one of the top check-ins, especially when I lived on Oahu. So last night some of my relatives flew in (we going to graduation today) and of course it coincided with mother's day. Originally they wanted to visited Fook Yuen but yaaaaa know... Wait times.
I do have a brother that lives windward side so we arranged to eat here. I called ahead, they don't do reservations but the person said the wait shouldn't be too bad, maybe like 20 minutes. Parts of our party arrived and said we needed to haul @$# because there was a party of 14 waiting to be sat and whoever arrived first got the table. I never flew up Likelike so fast!!
By the time our party arrived both of our parties were sat at the same time. The experience was fast tonight. The guys working were on point (as always). I love the service up here compared to Keeamoku. The workers here don't have attitude or is picky/choosy with their service. Anyway we left full and happy. And they kept refilling our meats and sides. I was very happy and definitely recommend eating here during the busier holidays. The place was not packed as we thought it would be.
The first time we came we had a party of FIVE people, yes FIVE. Surely we had 2 tables cause us local people need some room (aka bigger "built" people lol). On our checks we were automatically charged the 18% for tip. Clearly on the sign that you can see clearly, says "18% will be charged for parties of 6 OR MORE". They claim that since we used 2 tables that's why they charged us. No where on the sign says that, but they ended up removing the automatic tip. So ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BILL!
For the current review that happened yesterday (Friday night) we came in around 11:30PM. Same amount of people, with the same local people in the party, all squished onto ONE table! We were told cause it's their "policy". Mind you last call for food was at 12AM! In 30 minutes! The restaurant only had about 3 small parties that had probably less than 5 people in them so there was A LOT OF ROOM! Our waitress, a lady who had a major attitude problem was giving us a very hard time. We did ask her nicely if we could have 2 tables to spread out and she kept saying "it's our policy to put you on only 1 table". And she kept giving us attitude about it! We were later helped by this younger gentleman, who assisted us and ALLOWED US to use 2 tables. He was helpful! And really nice! He tended to our needs! Service by this guy was awesome! I would only come back if this guy was our server again.
Would mention names but they don't have name tags!

I absolutely love yakiniku and was happy that they opened a secondary location. It's still all you can eat!
Location: I honestly think that this secondary location is a lot better than the first location, it is definitely a lot more roomy and there's less smoke because of the movable vent that they have on top of the grill.
Experience: This location is a lot different than the town location. They have a lot more servers and many of them are on younger based off of the one that is in town. The atmosphere is a lot different and feels more young and energetic. I love that you can refill your own sauces because at many other places you have to ask the waiter for more. Service was good, they were REALLY busy (it was a Saturday night) and they were managing the place pretty well.
Food: Of course you are not going to get high caliber or prime meat slices here, but they are good enough. That is what you get when you're at an all you can eat buffet. The sides were alright. It could have been better, their kimchi was good. The others needed a bit more flavor.
Yes, you're going to come out smelling like food. Yes, you're going to leave feeling like a glutenous pig. And yes, you will wonder if you ate your monies worth of food. But in the end, you'll leave happy and stuffed and ready for a nap. It's nice to have an AYCE Korean restaurant in Kaneohe. It's located in the shopping center with Times, in between Jack in the Box and the fire station. There's lots of parking although the lot can get busy and you may have to park way inside. It's BYOB so it's nice to have Times right there so you can stop in and get your favorite beverage. Depending on what time you go, you will probably encounter a wait. Once the tables are full, you'll have to wait for them to eat their 90 minutes worth of food. The wait staff have been known to tell you to wrap it up as you're almost out of time. The food is good. The sides are at your table, ready to be shared. We've had to ask for them to refilled when we were running low, they don't seem to refill it on their own. The wait staff is pretty attentive with changing out the grill but sometimes you'll have to flag someone down so that you can put in your next order of meats. They allow you to order up to 4 at a time. The orders are very large so don't let your eyes be bigger than your stomach because you'll have to be able to finish what your order or risk being charged a fee for being wasteful. I don't know what qualifies for that fee or how much that is- my group always finishes our food completely. The one thing I wish they had which they don't is the rice paper or radish wraps that other Korean BBQ places have. That would take it to a whole other level if they had those. And while this is a BYOB restaurant, it would also be great if they offered soju like other places do. When I want a Korean BBQ fix but I'm too lazy to drive to town, this is the place to go!
